About the Role

S&P Global Ratings is one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. Team members produce high quality fundamental research based on established criteria, have the chance to ask probing questions to senior corporate executives, and interact with the global investor community.

With offices in 26 countries, more than $47.5 trillion in debt rated, and nearly 1,400 credit analysts, S&P Global Ratings is an important part of the world's financial infrastructure. For more than 150 years it has helped investors and financers provide capital to businesses and governments efficiently.

The Business Practice Groups include Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure.

What You Will Gain

  • Help S&P Global deliver high quality risk evaluations and analytical information to the world's financial markets.
  • Work with junior and senior analysts and with senior management of issuing entities through the ratings process, including ratings committees and management meetings.
  • Complete a group mock ratings committee project over the summer. Interns receive an unrated company or entity and handle all due diligence and research to develop a suggested credit rating, then present a final recommendation to a Ratings Committee of senior business leaders.
  • At the end of the internship, interns may be considered for the 2028 CREDit graduate program.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply ratings criteria and methodology.
  • Help prepare documents for rating committee and issuer management meetings.
  • Work with assigned summer intern project teams to complete and present during the mock ratings committee.
  • Provide timely and accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis.
  • Assist with reporting, research, presentations and modelling.
  • Use AI technologies to analyze large datasets and draw actionable insights, integrating them into existing analytical frameworks.
  • Support the team on process improvements and ad-hoc writing projects.

All employees are required to work from the office at least 2 days per week. Candidates who reach the final interview stage must attend at least one in-person interview, usually at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office, before an offer can be made.

Benefits

S&P Global offers health and wellness coverage, generous time off, continuous learning resources, retirement planning with a continuing education program and company-matched student loan contribution, family friendly perks, and other everyday discounts and referral awards.
