Program Overview

S&P Global Ratings is a leading provider of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. As a CREDit Graduate Program Analyst, you will join a team that produces high quality fundamental research based on established criteria.

The CREDit Graduate Program is a two-year training and development opportunity. The next intake joins in September 2027. Analysts are hired for a specific practice but are expected to move between practices as business needs change. In the first year, you will build skills and knowledge in your home practice. In the second year, you will gain exposure to other practices through classroom training and small projects or short-term secondments. All analysts combine practical work experience with a relevant qualification, such as the CFA.

The Practice

As a CREDit Analyst in Corporates, you will be assigned to industry coverage groups and work with corporations ranging from unfamiliar names to companies you see every day. You will support the ratings process from initial meetings with management teams through to final rating committees, learning from experienced colleagues along the way.

Responsibilities include applying the S&P methodology to prepare models, drafting articles for publication, assisting with research, and developing credit judgment using both top-down and bottom-up research. Current placements include Technology, Media & Telecom, Leisure & Entertainment, Consumer Products, Transportation, Autos & Defense, Healthcare, Capital Goods, Retail & Restaurants, among others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit and recovery analysis for corporate, institutional, and governmental clients, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of organizations and their ability to meet financial obligations for traditional credit products and structured banking transactions.
  • Provide timely and precise quarterly financial statistics and data analysis.
  • Assist with reporting, research, and presentation development.
  • Collaborate with the team on process improvements and ad-hoc writing projects.

Benefits

S&P Global offers health and wellness coverage, generous time off, continuous learning resources, retirement planning, a continuing education program with a company-matched student loan contribution, financial wellness programs, family perks, and employee discounts and referral incentives.

All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. Candidates who reach the final interview stage must attend at least one in-person interview, ordinarily at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
