Space Systems

The Space Systems team builds complete spacecraft, precision payloads, and the components that help them operate in space, including solar panels, flight software, star trackers, optical systems, separation systems, and radios. The team has supported more than 1,700 missions, from interplanetary exploration and in-space manufacturing to national security and defense initiatives. Electrical Engineer I

Rocket Lab is seeking an Electrical Engineer I for its avionics design engineering team in Long Beach, CA. You will take part in developing and testing avionics hardware for spacecraft programs and work with engineers from many disciplines. The role covers electrical hardware development from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and production.

Engineers on the spacecraft development team have frequent chances to test and operate their systems on orbit. The ideal candidate enjoys spacecraft electrical hardware design and is eager to learn in a fast-paced setting.

What You'll Do

• Develop PCBA requirements with other engineering disciplines
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
• Carry out circuit analysis, including power, tolerance, and reliability
• Run PCBA design verification and system integration testing
• Support production manufacturing as needed
