Quality Engineer Early Career

Job Description

Apply quality principles across design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and research and development for make or buy products. Perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models, designs, drawings, and procedures. Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers on quality issues to ensure standards are met. Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions, and corrective or preventive actions.

Ensure corrective measures meet reliability standards and comply with requirements. Develop strategies to improve internal and supplier performance. Evaluate quality systems for deficiencies and implement corrections. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment. Conduct product quality tests and statistical analysis to identify nonconforming materials. Participate in supplier selection and maintain certification programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen; this position requires a government security clearance.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and solutions to complex problems.
• Proven ability to communicate and present project work in written and verbal formats.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques or Green Belt Certification.
• Knowledge of data analytics or statistics with ability to work under minimal guidance.
• Understanding of audit techniques.
• Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming material.
• Experience with basic automation or robotics.
• Knowledge of AS9100D Quality System and pertinent quality practices.
