Product Designer (New Grad)

The Palantir Design Team is responsible for the human experience of using our software. We are growing rapidly but remain committed to a tight-knit team environment that fosters trust, integrity, empathy, and growth. We work together to realize a shared product vision and regularly give feedback and critique to each other.

Core Responsibilities

• Interaction and visual design: You'll be involved at every stage of design work, from defining early product concepts to fleshing out high-level workflows and micro-interactions, and executing crisp, effective visual designs. Experience with tools such as Figma is required.
• User research: We frequently conduct informal user research and value flexibility in research processes. You'll often visit customer offices to interview and learn from users, pairing qualitative methods (like scripted usability tests and contextual inquiry) with quantitative data such as product and usage metrics.
• Deliver and communicate designs in close collaboration: You'll work closely with product and forward deployed engineers, treating them as partners to prototype and build out products.
• Awareness of how software interfaces are built: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is appreciated. You don't need to be an expert, just fluent enough to collaborate with engineers and understand what's possible with frontend technologies.
• Designers at Palantir have great autonomy over their work, so a wide skill set is necessary. Many designers are also passionate experts in one area, whether that means shipping code weekly or sharing detailed user research findings.

What We Require

• Must be planning to graduate in 2027.
• Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
