A Career with Point72's Market Intelligence Team

Market Intelligence is Point72's proprietary research team. You will support Data Research team members as they work with investment professionals and the Compliance team to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy. The work combines deep fundamental research with data science and engineering techniques applied to alternative data sets, alongside a team with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Industry researchers, product managers, and data scientists and engineers work together to build compliant research products that answer the questions investment professionals care about most. The team looks for bright, motivated, and collaborative people to grow with it.

About the Sector Analyst Internship

As a sector analyst, you will provide industry context and business fundamentals to the team of data scientists and engineers, and support the team that delivers tailored, synthesized insights to investment professionals.

You should be curious about global industry trends, business models, and supply chains, and enjoy building deep sector expertise. You should be able to distill clear takeaways from complex qualitative and quantitative information, including alternative data, and be energized by an experiment-driven approach, shifting priorities, and close collaboration across investment, research, and compliance teams.

The 10-week program is based in the New York office. During it, you will gain exposure to:

• Developing subject-matter expertise on an assigned sector, including the key themes and KPIs that drive its industries and companies
• How data researchers support investment professionals and inform their investment decisions
• Composing research reports and synthesizing findings
• Collaborating with other proprietary research teams to source and extract value from new and existing data assets

The annual base salary is $100,000 (USD), prorated based on internship start and end date. This does not include overtime compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
