Pharmacy Summer Intern: Job Summary

This internship provides exposure to all areas of pharmacy operations, including interactions with pharmacists and technicians regarding utilization of tools, resources, and solutions provided to member pharmacies. You will work on projects designed to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience, as well as pharmacy education development and delivery.

Intern Program Details

• Paid internship
• Full time, 10 weeks
• Based out of our Irving, TX location

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in data analysis efforts to evaluate current processes and procedures for opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual intervention, and implement technology solutions where appropriate.
• Support process improvement initiatives across various functional groups within Specialty Pharmacy Operations.
• Provide assistance to cross-functional teams as needed for special projects.
• Work with support team members to solve customer problems.
• Attend team meetings to stay abreast of key initiatives and learn from subject matter experts.
• Learn and apply industry best practices in analyzing data sets to drive actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a healthcare degree program (pharmacy or other health care major) at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership roles in student organizations.
• Texas intern or pharmacy technician registration.
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry upon graduation.
