What You Will Achieve

This role supports Sample Logistics (SL) operations within Pfizer Vaccine Research and Development (VRD). You will receive samples from global clinical and study trials according to approved protocols and processes. You will help track and document the chain of custody for samples. Responsibilities include sample receipt, documentation, storage, tracking, aliquoting, distribution to testing labs, and sample disposal. You will work in a team setting and share roles as assigned by the team leader or manager.

How You Will Achieve It

• Complete all processes as detailed in Sample Logistics' Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform job responsibilities in compliance with GXP and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Receive samples from clinical trial sites and enter them into an electronic database management system.
• Complete clinical lab supply requests, including shipping forms, labels, and other lab supplies as needed.
• Perform sample storage and retrieval using manual freezers and BiOS (automated freezer storage system).
• Author Laboratory Manuals to support clinical trial site training and operations.
• Perform manual aliquoting and aliquoting using the Hamilton robotic instrument.
• Ship samples and lab supplies to external and internal testing labs.
• Assist with general maintenance of the Hamilton robotic instruments.
• Take part in the shipment discrepancy resolution process.
• Complete documentation according to cGMP/GLP and other regulatory agency requirements, and archive documents per applicable policies.
• Carry out sample disposal and destruction according to regulated policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to work in a team setting.
• Experience using common AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and productivity.
• Demonstrated curiosity about how these tools can improve outcomes, and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Preferred Requirements

• Pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery experience.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at once.
• Experience using common AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Work in a lab environment for most of the workday.
• Work with various types of bodily fluids.
• Work with live microorganisms (e.g., S. pneumoniae).
• Ability to lift racks and boxes up to 10 lbs.
