Pearl River NY Hiring Associate Scientist

Role Summary

This role works as a member of the Sample Logistics (SL) operations team within Pfizer Vaccine Research and Development (VRD). The associate receives samples from global clinical and study trials according to approved protocols and processes. The role covers tracking and documenting chain of custody, including sample receipt, documentation, storage, tracking, aliquoting, distribution to testing labs, and sample disposal. Work is done in a team setting, with duties shared as assigned by the team leader or manager.

Responsibilities

• Complete all processes described in Sample Management's Standard Operating Procedures, in compliance with GXP and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Receive samples from clinical trial sites and enter them into an electronic database management system.
• Perform sample storage and retrieval using manual freezers and BiOS (automated freezer storage system).
• Perform manual aliquoting and aliquoting with the Hamilton robotic instrument.
• Ship samples and lab supplies to external and internal testing labs.
• Assist with general maintenance of the Hamilton robotic instruments.
• Take part in the shipment discrepancy resolution process.
• Complete documentation under cGMP/GLP and other regulatory requirements, and archive documents per applicable policies.
• Carry out sample disposal and destruction under regulated policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Work in a lab environment for most of the workday.
• Handle various types of bodily fluids.
• Lift racks or boxes up to 10 lbs.

Work location assignment: On Premise.

Benefits

The base salary ranges from $60,200.00 to $100,400.00 per year. The position is also eligible for Pfizer's Global Performance Plan, with a bonus target of 7.5% of base salary.
