Job Description

Parsons is looking for a talented Civil Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025.

Working under the direction of a degreed engineer, you will complete a range of basic to moderately difficult engineering support assignments that require a fundamental knowledge of design and drafting standards, practices, and techniques. At this level, you will take engineering notes, specifications, and rough sketches and turn them into working drawings. These assignments help build practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and how they connect within an engineering discipline.

Specific Responsibilities

• Use a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings, such as basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, and isometrics, from rough sketches or general engineering and design information following established standards and procedures.
• Use technical manuals and directives to confirm compliance with codes and company policies. Become familiar with standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations needed for drawing preparation.
• Carry out other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.

Skills and Competencies

Requirements include PC literacy, a working knowledge of CAD, and a working knowledge of other computer software used to complete design assignments.
