Summer 2027 Risk Management Intern

Nationwide's Enterprise Risk & Advanced Analytics (ERAA) team works with business unit and corporate functions to make sure the company's risk profile is well understood and managed, and that its capital position stays strong. Enterprise Risk Management covers Investment Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Operational Risk Management, Risk & Capital Reporting, Enterprise Model Risk Management, Enterprise Risk & Capital Modeling, and the Enterprise Analytics Office, along with matrixed relationships with the Nationwide Financial and Property & Casualty Actuarial offices.

Job Description

As an Enterprise Risk Management Intern, you will learn something new every day while being developed by a supportive group of associates. This internship is a starting point for a career in financial services and risk management.

The Nationwide Intern Program is a 12-week summer internship in Columbus, Ohio that gives participants hands-on experience in risk management. You will work across areas of enterprise risk management, such as model risk management, risk modeling, operational risk management, risk reporting, risk governance, and risk data and analytics. Interns are strongly considered for future full-time positions.

Skills and Qualifications Desired

• Students pursuing degrees in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Business Administration, or Statistics, within 2-3 semesters of graduation
• Superior academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
• Experience demonstrating leadership qualities
• Communication and analytical skills
• Ability to think strategically and critically

Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program. At its sole discretion, Nationwide decides whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget, though it is usually not available for entry level roles.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure. Placement within the starting salary range depends on factors including the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials and experience; the scope, complexity and location of the role; the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.

The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is $23 - $50.
