The Nationwide summer internship runs for 12 weeks. Interns take on key business assignments that make a difference while building their leadership skills. Interns also take part in professional development sessions, networking events and collaborations with company leaders.

About Our Agribusiness Commercial Casualty Claims Team

As an Agribusiness Commercial Casualty Claims Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to the casualty claims process. You will learn how claims professionals investigate losses, evaluate liability, determine coverage and support customers through difficult situations. You will work alongside experienced claims professionals and build the analytical, communication and problem-solving skills that support a career in insurance and risk management.

A Day in the Life Might Include:

• Reviewing and summarizing first notice of loss reports and supporting claim file setup.
• Helping with liability investigations by gathering statements, photos, records and other claim documentation.
• Taking part in claim evaluations, including policy coverage reviews and liability assessments.
• Drafting correspondence and working with insureds, claimants, agents, vendors, legal counsel and other business partners.
• Shadowing experienced adjusters during field visits, inspections or virtual claim reviews.
• Supporting reporting initiatives and process improvement projects for casualty claims operations.
• Learning about agribusiness liability exposures, insurance coverages and claims-handling practices.
• Assisting with subrogation and recovery efforts, including spotting potential third-party liability.
• Supporting reserve reviews, payment requests and claim resolution activities.
• Helping with compliance, audit and documentation requirements.
• Completing a capstone project and presenting recommendations to Agribusiness Claims leadership.
