Department Overview

The Devices Android Application Development Team designs and builds Android applications for Public Safety customers.

Job Description

Responsibilities range from requirements gathering, architecture and design to development, testing, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of Android mobile applications.

Desired skills (not required):

• Kotlin software experience
• Familiarity with a wide range of Android Framework components, such as Bluetooth, Sensors, Widgets and Services
• Familiarity with Android security features and mechanisms
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services
• Knowledge of Git, object-oriented development and Agile methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in mobile application development on Android (Android Studio and Android frameworks)

Basic Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a technical discipline.
• Must have a graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 visa on CPT is accepted only for master's-level students).
