Overview

Research Internships at Microsoft offer a dynamic setting for research careers, with a network of world-class research labs led by globally recognized scientists and engineers. These teams pursue innovation across many scientific and technical fields, including computing, healthcare, economics, and the environment.

Microsoft Research's Biomedical Machine Learning (ML) Group works at the intersection of machine learning, biology, and healthcare. Its interests include ML methods in healthcare such as cancer biology, precision medicine, and medical imaging, along with generative models of genomes, molecules, proteins, and chemical reactions, and statistical genetics.

Responsibilities

Research Interns turn inquiry and theory into practice. They work alongside doctoral candidates and some of the world's leading researchers, learning, collaborating, and building professional networks. Interns advance their own careers while contributing to active research and development efforts.

During the 12-week internship, Research Interns are paired with mentors and are expected to collaborate with other interns and researchers, present their findings, and take part in the community. Research internships cover all areas of research and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer.
