As an Applied Scientist Intern, you will work at the front of technology innovation, collaborating to bring research into Microsoft products and services. Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve the performance of advanced algorithms on large-scale datasets and cutting-edge machine intelligence and machine learning research.
• Think through product scenarios and goals, identify key challenges, map scenario needs to Machine Learning (ML) tasks, and design experiments for iteration and optimization.
• Implement prototypes of scalable AI systems. Build an understanding of a broad research area and applicable techniques, along with basic knowledge of industry trends, and share knowledge with immediate team members.
• Prepare data for analysis by reviewing quality and technical criteria. Review data, recommend what to include or exclude, and describe actions taken to address data quality problems.
• Help develop usable datasets for modeling and support scaling of feature ideation and data preparation.
• Adapt cleaned data for machine learning purposes under the direction of a senior team member.

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,690.00 to $11,210.00 per month. In the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $7,410.00 to $12,250.00 per month. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
