This role performs assignments in technical and engineering organizations such as Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering during breaks from college while enrolled in an accredited degree program. Candidates are typically considered a Senior.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is hiring a Summer 2027 Systems Engineer Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Intern. You will analyze technical and obsolescence data, including Bill of Material (BOM) data and industry reports, and manage inventory coordination to identify potential program impacts. You will also manage, review, and disposition DMS Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs), and develop, coordinate, and support the presentation of DMS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to the program customer.

You will also take part in maintaining and developing tools the team uses to track, coordinate, and execute DMS mitigation cases. Experience or knowledge with relational databases is needed, along with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to read and understand detailed technical data. US citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering (2 years complete)
• Basic coursework in electrical or electronic engineering
• Technical writing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• US citizenship required

Desired Skills

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
• Experience in Systems Engineering across the total lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production, and sustainment), including Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, and Risk and Opportunity Assessment
• Knowledge of Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering with emphasis on Mission Systems Integration
• Understanding of and appreciation for Standard Work processes and tools
• Understanding and/or industry experience with Relational Databases
