Cybersecurity Intern in Alexandria, VA

Leidos is looking for motivated cybersecurity students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program, which starts in May 2027. As a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, you will join the Digital Sector on the Global Solutions Management Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. The role offers hands-on experience in a live Security Operations Center (SOC) that helps defend the Defense Information System Network (DISN) for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

You will work alongside SOC analysts and learn enterprise-grade tools used to detect and analyze compromises across a global network. The work supports the security of vital communication networks in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Learn to use alerts from endpoints, IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and custom sensors to identify compromises on customer networks.
• Perform junior-level review of large log files, pivot between data sets, and correlate evidence for incident investigations.
• Assist senior SOC personnel by passing along triaged alerts and helping identify malicious actors.
• Document analysis, findings, and actions in a case management system.
• Help create and distribute incident reports to customers and higher headquarters.
