Job Description

The Human Resources Emerging Talent Program Intern will complete a 10-week summer internship within Human Resources Data & Analytics. While much of your time will be dedicated to a specific area, the internship structure provides broad exposure to Human Resources as a whole. Interns will participate in networking, teambuilding activities, and professional development sessions, and will gain exposure to senior leadership throughout HR and the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Receive exposure to all basic functions of the assigned group within the financial industry
• Be exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work, and attend meetings
• Provide assistance in projects
• Gain valuable insight into various functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
• Responsibilities will vary by internship

This position requires time tracking and is eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

• A current undergraduate or graduate student with expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2029
• Open to all majors; business analytics, computer science, math/statistics, or related major preferred
• Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks onsite in Birmingham, Alabama
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Regions will not sponsor work visas

Additional Preferences

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access/SQL database development
• Familiarity with Power Builder development and VB Macro development in Excel
• Familiarity with R or Python
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools

This position is full-time and not incentive eligible.
