Job Description

Job Family Definition: This role designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for ASIC SDK and new switch products. You will develop software including Linux operating systems, networks, utilities, and Linux debug tools, and help determine hardware compatibility or influence hardware design. The role calls for an understanding of RTL and the ability to write C/C++, Python, Rust, and Go.

Management Level Definition: You will apply intermediate subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems and act as an informed team member, providing analysis and recommendations. You will work independently within an established framework with moderate supervision, applying knowledge from your college coursework to complex business issues.

Responsibilities

• Design limited enhancements, updates, and real-time programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software that take full advantage of the hardware design.
• Provide clear feedback to improve product quality and reduce the risk of failures.
• Analyze designs and determine the coding, programming, and integration work needed to meet specific objectives and project guidelines.
• Write and execute portions of test plans, protocols, and documentation for your assigned area, then identify and debug code issues and suggest improvements.
• Work as part of a project team with other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to build reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for your assigned system or subsystem.
• Communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
