Job Description

This intern will work with the HPE Aruba ASIC development team on next generation products. The summer project will support current or future ASIC development activities. The team builds advanced networking chips for the market and our customers, and we are looking for people who want to contribute at that level.

The intern will work alongside and learn from senior members of the ASIC and VLSI team. Responsibilities may include RTL and physical design, pre-silicon and post-silicon verification, formal verification, script and tool development, schedule breakdowns, document generation, and other duties. Assignments will be aligned to student skills and business needs.

This role is hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week in an HPE office.

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year university or college pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least third year of engineering coursework completed (degree completion December 2027 or May 2028).

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PERL, or TCL, or equivalent.
• Experience with hardware design.
• Experience with software programming languages such as C and C++.
• Experience with Verilog.
• Strong interest in high-tech and a passion for learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Time management skills and ability to work with strict deadlines.
• A collaborative, solution-focused mindset and a sense of urgency.
• Experience with AI tools.

Impact and Scope

• Four-year university students working in a technical internship during their studies or in summer breaks between semesters.
