Hitachi Nuclear Licensing Intern

GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) is seeking an engineering, science, or business student for a full-time Nuclear Licensing Internship in Wilmington, North Carolina, from May through August 2027. The intern will support licensing activities for the existing U.S. boiling water reactor (BWR) fleet while gaining practical experience with nuclear regulatory requirements, licensing processes, and advanced nuclear technology.

GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy is looking to add engineering/science/business students for an internship program starting in May 2027 to support licensing activities for the current BWR operating reactor fleet in the US.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans to implement the next wave of power uprates for the world-wide installed base of boiling water reactor nuclear plants.
• Review, interpret, and implement new nuclear regulations and guidance in procedures and processes.
• Gain familiarity with GVH’s nuclear licensing methodologies and look for opportunities to improve them.

What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Law, or a similar degree.
• Availability of 40 hours per week.
• Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
