Job Description Summary

GE Vernova's Applied Grid Innovation (AGI) team is researching the next generation of AI technologies that will change how electric utilities operate and manage the power grid. As a Power System Intern focused on foundation models, you will support research and prototyping work that pairs power system expertise with advanced AI to build intelligent operational tools for the grid of the future.

What You Will Do

As a student on the AGI team, you will help make sure AI solutions are accurate, reliable, explainable, and effective for critical utility applications where performance and trust matter most.

• Develop benchmarks for evaluating AI and foundation model performance.
• Design testing methodologies and evaluation frameworks.
• Create datasets and scenarios for model validation.
• Measure model quality, reliability, accuracy, and operational usefulness.
• Analyze benchmark results and identify areas for improvement.
• Evaluate competing AI solutions across multiple dimensions.
• Support continuous improvement of AGI AI capabilities.
• Communicate findings through reports and presentations.
