As a Software Engineer Intern at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of software professionals, implementing cutting-edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will help solve some of the world's most difficult challenges by supporting domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. As part of a matrix engineering and technology organization, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple programs over your career.

What You Will Be Doing

Your responsibilities as a Software Engineer Intern will include but are not limited to:

• Developing software
• Integrating features and algorithms into C/C++ applications
• Planning, conducting, and coordinating software development activities
• Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software with logical and mathematical solutions to business or mission problems
• Applying knowledge of computer hardware, software, and information processing techniques to develop software
• Correcting program errors, preparing operating instructions, compiling documentation, and analyzing system capabilities

Basic Qualifications

• Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related software discipline
• Demonstrated software development experience in C++
• Ability to obtain DoD Clearance
• Must be US Citizen

Desired Skills

• Experience with operating systems or familiarity with OS concepts, including Linux, Windows, Unix, VxWorks, or Operating Systems coursework
• Hardware experience with Arduino, STMxx, Xilinx, or any FPGA programmable software
• Strong understanding of C++ Object Oriented design and inheritance concepts
• Understanding of basic multi-threading concepts
• Experience working with large code bases
• DevSecOps tool chain experience, including Git, GitHub, or BitBucket
• Software configuration management
• Full software life-cycle development
• Software integration and debugging techniques
• Demonstrated software development experience in C or Python
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• Prior embedded internships are a bonus, but not required

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $24.37 - $28.15 per hour. At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
