Burbank Unscripted TV Intern, Spring 2027

About the Role & Program

The Walt Disney Television Unscripted & Alternative Entertainment team is looking for an intern to learn about unscripted programming across ABC Network and Hulu's reality slate. The ABC lineup includes The Bachelor franchise, Shark Tank, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Celebrity Family Feud, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Original Hulu programming includes The Kardashians, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and Vanderpump Villa. The team also oversees award shows and specials such as "The Oscars," "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," "The CMA Awards" and more.

The team is passionate about unscripted television, spots new trends with a finger on the pop culture pulse, and works through complex problems together. If you are an out-of-the-box thinker who enjoys collaboration and cares about unscripted content, this role could be a strong fit.

This is a full-time internship running approximately January 2027 through June 2027. Selected interns will report directly to the Manager, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment. A cover letter indicating interest in the Walt Disney Television Unscripted & Alternative Entertainment Intern, Summer 2026 position is required to be considered.

What You Will Do

As an Unscripted Programming Intern, you will see the day-to-day work of a premier streaming network and gain a firsthand understanding of how unscripted series are produced, along with broader knowledge of the entertainment industry.

You will also collaborate with Original Content sub-teams including Post, Production Management, Marketing, PR, Legal, Business Affairs, Finance, and Data. The ideal candidate is a TV superfan with intellectual curiosity, critical and creative thinking, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Updating reports: researching topics and updating current reports using Microsoft Suite.
• Reviewing pitch material submitted to see what types of shows are being pitched.
• Screening cuts of current shows in production before they air.
• Administrative duties such as covering phones, scheduling meetings, updating reports, and more.
• Supporting department-wide creative projects such as tracking IP and building casting decks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, Airtable, and Adobe Suite.
• Experience working on Mac computer systems.
• Prior related internship experience, ideally in unscripted content.
• A curiosity about unscripted television and a desire to learn.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a constantly evolving work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior administrative experience is a plus.
• Experience covering desks and phone lines for executives and/or senior leadership.
• Knowledge of current series on ABC, Hulu, and other networks or streamers is a plus, along with a passion for television.

Education

• Senior year preferred

Additional Information

• Consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
• Fully available Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT, 40 hours each week for the duration of the internship.
• Able to provide own housing in the Burbank, California area for the duration of the program.
• Able to provide or have reliable transportation to and from work.
