Space & Presentation Intern (Minneapolis)

About the internship

The Space & Presentation team at Target works to create better store spaces and experiences for guests while supporting sales. The team makes sure the right item is on the right shelf in the right store. Using analytics, space allocation and presentation development, the team brings assortments to life across Target stores nationwide.

As a Space & Presentation Business Partner Intern, you will get a realistic look at a career that turns merchandising strategies into clear, appealing in-store experiences. With guidance from leaders and team members, you will learn how guest insights, business performance, assortment strategy and space planning shape product presentation across a large store portfolio.

Throughout the internship, you will receive training, coaching and chances to learn from cross-functional partners. You will manage a defined project from discovery and analysis through recommendation, then present your work and learnings to department leadership.

What you will do

• Support analysis of space, assortment, sales and guest insights to find presentation opportunities.
• Assist with presentation development and other deliverables that turn merchandising strategies into executable store solutions that balance cost and operational feasibility.
• Evaluate business results and store feedback to help refine recommendations and improve the guest experience.
• Partner with Merchandising, Store Design, Marketing, Store Operations, Fixturing, Signing, Asset Protection, Pricing and Store Communications to understand business needs and execution considerations.
• Help develop and present clear collateral that communicates strategies, findings and recommendations to partners and leaders.
• Take part in team working sessions, milestone meetings and project reviews, and apply feedback to strengthen deliverables.
• Organize project details, files and deliverables with accuracy and timely follow-through.
• Manage a scoped internship project from discovery through final recommendation, and present the outcome to leadership.
• Show curiosity, initiative, accountability and openness to learning in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Internship experience

This is an entry-level internship based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, starting in Summer 2027. The program offers meaningful project ownership, exposure to the day-to-day work of a Space & Presentation Business Partner, and development through training, mentorship, feedback and cross-functional partnership.
