Overview

Satair is looking for a Summer Intern - Human Resources to join our Human Resources team based in Herndon, VA.

In this role, you'll gain exposure to multiple areas of our site HR team, spanning HR Operations, Recruitment, Talent & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, and other areas.

Your Working Environment

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices. In the nation's capital, you'll find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the company's extensive role in the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries in the U.S. and worldwide. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters, located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Program Highlights

  • Participation in the Summer 2027 Intern Program: May 17th - August 6th, 2027
  • Contribute to high-visibility HR projects in areas such as onboarding, leadership development, and safety.
  • Dedicated HR team to support your development throughout the program.
  • Connect with your HR team members for regular check-ins, goal setting, and continuous career feedback throughout the internship.

Your Challenges

  • Support daily HR operations: play a supportive role in the daily functions of the Human Resources department.
  • Facilitate engagement activities: assist in planning and executing engagement activities for the HR team, focusing on leadership development, and for the Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) team.
  • Contribute to high-visibility HR projects: provide support and assistance on significant HR initiatives that have high visibility within the company.
  • Create deliverables for leadership: utilize strong creative abilities to produce materials and deliverables intended for review by business management and the highest levels of corporate leadership.

Your Boarding Pass

  • HS Diploma/GED and currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and entering final year in college preferred.
  • Ability to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal customers, required.
  • Creative focus.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Some office work environment experience, preferred.
  • Some experience using Workday or other HRIS system preferred.
  • Experience working with Human Resources is a plus.

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily. 100%
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily. 100%
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily. 100%

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Rarely required. 10%

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Required infrequently. 10%
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Required daily. 50%
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. 0%
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Required daily. 30%
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site 100%
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: steel toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor. 100%

Pay Range:

Hourly range based on the required profile: $24 - $39.75/hour. Rate determined by type of degree program and year in school (Bachelors through Masters). Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. This position offers the following benefits: Employee Assistance Program, Paid time off including paid holidays.
