Software/Network Engineering Intern

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking talented Software and Network Engineering Interns to join our team in Florham Park, NJ for Summer 2027. The internship will begin in May and last 12 weeks. You will be required to work fully on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and document software solutions for telecommunications and IP/computer networking equipment in the cyber security domain, working from existing design specifications.
• Collaborate with a product development team to develop concepts, identify creative solutions to user requests, and assess feasibility.
• Participate in technical activities across multiple disciplines, including security analysis, software/tool development, software test, development environment, and system infrastructure.
• Work in a telecommunications development lab environment, using automation tools and lab test equipment, including protocol analyzers.
• Operate effectively and comfortably in a team environment.

Qualifications

Required

• Must be a graduating high school senior or currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Networking, or a related field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Familiar with software engineering process concepts, from requirements reviews, code inspection, and system test plan creation to system validation.
• Familiar with development in Windows, Linux, and/or Unix-based operating systems.
• Software development skills in current languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++, or comparable languages.
• Use of development tools (e.g., editors, compilers, debuggers).
• Knowledge of IP networking and/or telecommunications equipment installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Some experience debugging system-level issues with various lab equipment.
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desired

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred but not required.
• Previous internship/co-op or other work experience.
• Participation in professional, community, or extracurricular activities.

Pay Range

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is: $45,900 - $91,900.
