The Role

Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations use data. As a Software Engineer Intern, you'll contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir Gotham, Foundry, or Apollo, products deployed at important institutions across public and private sectors. You'll create features used by research scientists, aerospace engineers, intelligence analysts, and economic forecasters worldwide.

Our Product Development organization consists of small teams, each focusing on a specific aspect of a product. You might join a team building a Foundry front-end application or a component of the Gotham release infrastructure. We encourage collaboration to share context, skills, and experience.

Core Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you are involved throughout the product lifecycle, from idea generation to execution and shipping, while paired with a mentor dedicated to your growth. You'll collaborate with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand customer problems and build solutions. You may tour an assembly line or join a counter-terror analyst to understand user missions.

Technologies We Use

It doesn't matter what languages you know when you join, but you must write clean, effective code and learn new languages quickly. Our software evolves constantly, so we need engineers who can adapt. Alongside peers with diverse experience, you'll build skills to apply the best technology. Currently, we use:

• Languages including Java and Go for backend, TypeScript for frontend
• Open-source technologies like Cassandra, Spark, Elasticsearch, React, and Redux
• Industry-standard build tooling including Gradle and GitHub

What We Value

• Ability to communicate and collaborate with engineers, users, and non-technical team members.
• Willingness to learn and make decisions independently, and to ask questions when needed.
• Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.

What We Require

• Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
• Experience coding in languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
• Must be planning to graduate in 2028; this should be your final internship before graduating.
