The Retail Creative Intern will support our team crafting and producing branded retail design expressions across all franchises. As an Intern, you will focus on creating retail tool kits, style guide development, and spatial planning for retail spaces spanning the globe.

This is a 6-month, full-time, in-person internship in Glendale, CA from January 11th to June 4th, 2027.

What You Will Do

  • Support creative design and development across all branded retail design experiences spanning the entire portfolio of The Walt Disney Company Franchises: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, and National Geographic.
  • Contribute to design development on retail toolkits and style guides across the portfolio of brands.
  • Assist the team with crafting architectural features, branding, signage, fixtures, and visual merchandising.
  • Learn about fashion, market trends, IP guardrails, and storytelling.
  • Research new materials and fabrication processes, learning about new technologies involved in advancing consumer experiences in retail.
  • Build strong POV boards for projects, including design benchmarking, materials, and sketching to convey specific storytelling or concepts.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering skills (Rhino & Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Proficiency in graphic design; understanding of visual identity and clear understanding of composition, color, and graphic design within the built environment.
  • Hands-on ability to convey design ideas and concepts quickly to team members.
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising standard processes and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills, diplomacy, and collaborative spirit.
  • Standout team player with flexibility in design approaches and processes.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn and adapt quickly in a constantly evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in interior design, retail design, or construction.
  • Proficiency in Animation and VR software (Adobe After Effects & Blender).
  • An understanding of IP and use of characters and storytelling within a built environment.

Education

  • Current undergraduate (Junior or Senior preferred) pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, or other related fields.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted US work authorization.

The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA is $23.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
