About the job

At Relativity Space, we're building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. Commercial success with Terran R will also open new opportunities in science, exploration, and innovation.

Relativity is a place where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. You will solve problems that have not been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you work in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you will collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life quickly.

About the Team

The Engine Manufacturing team delivers high-performance engines and builds manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. You will provide input that shapes new hardware iterations and work closely with engineers on critical decisions for the Aeon R program. The team has developed processes for the initial development engines and is now producing flight engines at rate for Terran R's launch manifest.

First shift hours are 6am to 3pm.

About the Role

  • Own the AeonR integrated assembly from design release through integration and shipment, including developing the build process to meet production targets and reduce build issues.
  • Develop processes and specifications that directly affect the production rate of AeonR engines.
  • Support production by resolving build issues, receiving and implementing technician feedback, and supporting BOM updates and build checkouts.
  • Support work center development by considering assembly operations, tooling, capital equipment requirements, and rate targets, and support engine work center development across sites.
  • Author test procedures and act as test conductor to verify as-installed hardware health and build integrity.
  • Help develop the business tools and processes used to manufacture the first launch vehicle, and help define and pilot long-term ERP, MES, and QMS solutions.

About You

  • B.S. degree in Engineering
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to write detailed work instructions and process plans
  • Ability to investigate, resolve, and screen hardware non-conformances
  • Ability to work with and train technicians
  • Ability to work with vendors to get parts made quickly and reliably
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, and precision inspection techniques

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience leading a small team
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
  • Experience working in a propulsion development program

Skills mentioned

  • ERP
  • QMS
  • MES
  • BOM
  • Additive Manufacturing
