Overview

Job Description

The Project Management Intern supports the Project Manager in coordinating and leading high-level projects to meet customer expectations for performance and schedule, as well as internal profitability goals.

  • Collaborate with sales, applications, estimating, and manufacturing teams on high-level projects to define customer requirements and deliver order acknowledgements that meet customer needs.
  • Help develop and maintain a clear understanding of project objectives, critical paths, schedule, and cost requirements. Support discussions on design changes, project reviews, questions, and concerns.
  • Participate in project meetings, assign responsibilities to team members as needed, motivate and challenge team members to meet deadlines, maintain an OPL, and take minutes for weekly meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining a complete record of project history, including design changes, scope changes, and cost impacts. Keep project folders updated with documents and status reports.
  • Help develop project management processes and tools, including team structures, schedule formats, progress reports, financial reports, presentations, and forecasting/tracking tools.
  • Offsite meetings may be required in Warren, MI and other locations; some travel may be possible.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an engineering or business program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with at least one semester completed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic PC skills for tracking project status; strong Microsoft Excel experience (PPT, Word, and MS Project also).
  • Ability to integrate into an international project team.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 25 hours per week availability.
