What You Will Do

As a Project Engineer Intern you will be responsible for planning, execution, and tracking Engine Repair development activities both domestically and internationally.

As a member of the Aftermarket Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Project Engineering team, you will work closely with a fully cross functional team, including design, structures, tooling, manufacturing, and validation, to deliver new repair capability to our customers. In this role, you will also collaborate with various repair development teams to create and implement technologies for repair related non-conformances. Repair development activity within the group spans all programs and engines and the project engineer role has core responsibility for project ownership, planning, scheduling, and coordination of the repair effort to the committed timeline.

As a Military Engines Project Engineer Intern at Pratt & Whitney, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of project plans, for various military engine discretionary repair development tasks.
  • Support priority communication and coordination between vested parties, including Validation, Design Engineering, Program Office and Project Engineering teams.
  • Interact with fully cross-functional teams, to develop military road mapping and competitive assessments.
  • Participate in status level reviews to communicate status, next steps, risks to schedule, and potential corrective actions.
  • Contribute to repair status meetings by providing updates on progress against project plans and key commitments.
  • Participate in the creation of, or revisions to various process flow maps for process improvement and path forward efforts.
  • Support agile initiatives to streamline program execution.
  • Participate in after action reviews.
  • Review and execute Engineering Standard Work (EKS) in accordance with latest process requirements.
  • Identify new and/or improve existing measurement tools, in alignment with program office goals.
  • Support the integration of safety and compliance requirements into project planning and execution.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Experience reading and communicating engineering part and tool drawing requirements.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with customer interactions.
  • Experience in a shop floor environment.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
