Policy Intern

This is a 12-week internship during summer 2027.

As an intern on the Policy team, you'll get hands-on exposure to how Coinbase shapes crypto policy in Washington and beyond. Depending on where the team needs support, you may spend the summer on more outward-facing, community engagement work, or on more technical, research-driven policy analysis, sometimes a mix of both. The strongest candidates genuinely care about digital assets policy, work well with others, and can flex between hands-on advocacy work and detailed technical analysis depending on what the team needs that week.

What you'll do:

• Support a mix of policy workstreams, from advocacy, community engagement, and stakeholder outreach to technical research, regulatory analysis, and briefing materials
• Draft policy materials such as talking points, white papers, social media posts, presentation decks, and short and long-form articles for external audiences
• Conduct research on legislative, regulatory, and policy developments and synthesize findings into actionable briefs for the Policy team
• Provide operational support on key deliverables including drafting, proofreading, data compilation, and project coordination

Required Skills and Experience:

• A collaborative team player who can flex between grassroots/community-facing work and more technical, substantive research depending on team needs
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to make progress on undefined or evolving problems without needing every detail spelled out
• Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in public policy, political science, law, international relations, or a related field, with a genuine interest in US policy and government
• Demonstrated research capability, including experience producing written analysis of legislative, regulatory, or policy topics (academic or professional)
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with minimal supervision over a 12-week engagement
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
