Part-Time Student - JDPS Application Engineering

Position Overview

As a Part-Time Student in JDPS Application Engineering, you will support the John Deere Product Supply (JDPS) team in Waterloo, Iowa. This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, working alongside engineers to improve production processes and product quality.

What You Will Do

• Assist in the development and implementation of application engineering projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation and reports.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the JDPS Application Engineering team.

What Skills You Need

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the academic year.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL).

Education

Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
