What You Will Do

Each intern is paired with a mentor from the same discipline. Interns also take part in the Parsons Early Talent Program, where they work with interns from other disciplines and with senior management.

Under the direction of a degreed and licensed electrical engineer, interns become familiar with engineering support assignments that call for a foundational understanding of electrical circuit principles, design and drafting standards, construction practices, and techniques. Activities are designed to give a full view of the engineering design lifecycle and the role electrical engineers play at Parsons.

Interns will read and interpret engineering notes, specifications, materials of construction, and rough sketches, then turn them into working drawings. Assignments build practical knowledge of electromechanical equipment, facilities, and systems, and how they interact with telecommunications, architecture, mechanical, civil, and fire protection disciplines.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university, with at least two years of electrical engineering studies completed.
• Experience with applied electrotechnology, power analysis, devices, circuits, and systems.
• Working knowledge of CAD. AutoCAD or Revit preferred.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Major GPA above 3.0.
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
