We are searching for the best talent for OPEX Co-Op to be in Añasco, PR.

• The Co-op term is from January to December, 2027.
• Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
• 2 vacancies are currently available.

Purpose:

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Co-Op is a one-year development program within a world-class medical device manufacturing environment. This role supports business performance improvement by applying Lean Manufacturing, data analytics, and structured problem-solving techniques to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Compliance, and Culture (SQDCC). The Co-Op will work closely with manufacturing and business leaders to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate waste, optimize processes, and drive sustainable results across the Vision value stream.

You will be responsible:

• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, Gemba walks, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction activities.
• Analyze manufacturing performance metrics such as throughput, cycle time, OEE, yield, scrap, defects, downtime, inventory, and WIP.
• Assist with line balancing, capacity planning, labor optimization, and production flow improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, A3 Thinking, and DMAIC.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, Minitab, Visio, and other analytics tools.
• Support digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives through data analytics and process monitoring.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Technical Operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, and Johnson & Johnson quality requirements.
• Present project findings, recommendations, and business impact to site leadership.
• Support deployment and sustainment of Operational Excellence standards and the Vision Supply Chain Operating System (VSCOS).

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Completion of at least the fourth year of an accredited undergraduate program.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
• Expected graduation date after July 2028.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, dashboards, and advanced formulas.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Waste Elimination, and Daily Management Systems.
• Basic understanding of statistics, process capability, project management, and manufacturing operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of FDA, GMP, or ISO 13485 requirements.
• Understanding of OEE, SPC, Cp/Cpk, and process validation concepts.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Power Query, Power Automate, or digital manufacturing technologies.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or related continuous improvement training.
