Network Engineer Intern

Opportunity

CACI is looking for a Network Engineering intern to work 32 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the Summer 2027 session. You will learn about and support a CACI program focused on Department of War enterprise network modernization.

This position requires you to work 100% in office at our High Point, NC location for the entire internship.

Responsibilities

• Assist an engineering team with designing and supporting network modernization solutions across the project life cycle.
• Complete a network engineering intern group project simulating customer network environments.
• Oversee task completion under the direction of a senior engineer.
• Conduct research and gather data to support project decision-making.
• Identify risks, roadblocks, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Provide general support to the engineering team as required.
• Deliver a final summary presentation on your projects and experience to the Division; select interns may present to leaders at our headquarters.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be a graduating high school senior with demonstrated academic achievement and technical aptitude.
• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a relevant field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if applicable.
• Good interpersonal, presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
• Technical experience or knowledge of basic data network communications and computer operations.
• Coursework providing background in data network communications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to travel to other CACI locations or customer sites as necessary.
• Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, or equipment.
• Technical experience or knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Aruba is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required; candidates must already hold it or be actively pursuing it with completion expected before the internship start date.

Desired:

• Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related degree preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred, not required.
• Previous experience with a network or cybersecurity related internship.
• Military experience or experience working with government personnel.

Pay Range

The proposed salary range for this position is $39,400 - $75,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
