Mechanical Engineering Intern

Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2027 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern. In this role, the selected candidate will work closely with the site Facilities Engineering team to perform duties such as:

• Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction.
• Review and estimate design costs.
• Review estimates for construction cost for adherence to design drawings.

The successful candidate must be a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications

• Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Work independently, under direction, and as a supporting member of the design team.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college program pursuing a degree in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and architectural drafting.
• Experience in other computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Skills

• Mechanical or electrical engineering student.
• Knowledge of engineering design and construction.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; enjoys working as a team player in a creative, fast-paced atmosphere.
• Knowledge in the bidding and review process.
• Knowledge in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $22.66 - $31.67

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
