MBA, Investment Banking Summer Associate - Summer 2027

This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June - August 2027. Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location for the duration of the program. The location for the duration of this program will be McLean, Virginia.

Summer Associates will be evaluated for a full-time position within the KippsDeSanto & Co. team, with potential start dates in the year following the completion of the internship. This role requires access to Controlled Unclassified Information. Candidates must qualify as a "U.S. Person" in accordance with applicable export control regulations. U.S. Persons include U.S. citizens (by birth or naturalization), U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S. (“green card holder”), individuals granted asylum in the U.S., and individuals admitted in the U.S. with refugee status.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a 2-year MBA with an expectation that your degree will be obtained by July 2028 or earlier.
• Must be continuing in the same course of study of your MBA following completion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Corporate & Investment Banking, Consulting, Private Equity, or Transaction Advisory experience
• Financial modeling experience, including DCF and LBO valuations
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Knowledge of general accounting and finance principles
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills

MBA Investment Banking Internship - Summer 2027

The Investment Banking Internship Program is seeking to hire an MBA Summer Associate to join KippsDeSanto & Co. (“KDC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital One, to support its mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) advisory practice within the Aerospace, Defense, Government and Technology sectors. KDC is focused on providing comprehensive investment banking services to top-quality clients within their sectors of expertise.

Our MBA Summer Associates perform critical functions throughout the entire transaction process, from helping to prepare clients for market, engaging with potential buyers, facilitating due diligence, to ultimately closing the deal. The position offers substantial opportunities to gain financial and technical expertise, professional development, and upward mobility, while taking on a substantial amount of responsibility in transaction execution, client management, and new business development.

What is the Investment Banking Summer Program at Capital One?

• Create client marketing presentations, memoranda, and other materials
• Develop an in depth understanding of investment banking products and services
• Conduct industry and market research
• Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial performance
• Assist in the preparation of valuation models
• Assisting in the development and continued cultivation of client, prospect client, and professional advisor relationships
• Assisting in the management and mentoring of Analysts
