About the Division

The Legal division plays an essential role in the formulation and implementation of the strategy of Goldman Sachs. The advice and counsel we provide to all areas of the firm is critical to maintaining our commitments to clients, regulators, and shareholders and to promoting our culture of excellence and integrity.

Our goal is to provide legal advice that protects the firm's financial well-being and reputation and assists our various businesses in evaluating the risks associated with completing transactions and other activities.

Our dynamic 9-week Summer Analyst Program, exclusively offered in Dallas for the Americas and Birmingham for the UK within the Legal Division, provides an unparalleled opportunity to be fully immersed in the day-to-day activities of our Legal Division. Upon successful completion of the Summer Analyst program, interns may receive offers to return to Legal as full-time Analysts in our uniquely structured two-year Analyst program.

Throughout their two years with the firm, Legal Program Analysts, also exclusively based in Dallas for the Americas and Birmingham for the UK within the Legal Division, gain an in-depth understanding of what it means to be part of in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs. The program is geared toward students who may be interested in pursuing law school, providing them with two years of full-time work experience to enhance their candidacy for JD programs. For those who decide not to pursue law school at the conclusion of two years, Analysts will have gained valuable experience and expanded their professional network which is meaningful as they pursue other opportunities within or outside of Goldman Sachs.
