Ithaca NY Hiring Associate Scientist, Sample Prep

IQVIA is seeking an Associate Scientist, Sample Preparation to join Q² Solutions, IQVIA's laboratory business in Ithaca, NY.

As an Associate Scientist in the Sample Preparation group, you will perform routine and specialized analysis and laboratory testing procedures that gather critical data for drug development and clinical trials research.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting and documenting analytical procedures in line with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Performing data analysis to confirm procedures and results meet set expectations and standards.
• Identifying unusual results and escalating them to senior laboratory personnel.
• Processing and uploading data analysis results into the LIMS system with guidance from senior staff.
• Assisting with quality control investigations, addressing deviations, and implementing resolutions.
• Preparing necessary reagents and solutions and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Supporting the training and development of new staff and updating laboratory procedures.
• Contributing to cross-functional projects and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
• Engaging in continuing education and supporting safety, quality, and operational excellence initiatives.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
• Basic knowledge of assigned technical area, systems, and procedures obtained through prior work experience.
• Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
• Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.

Skills that will help you in the role

• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety protocols, including the handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Experience with automation or specialized lab equipment and routine lab calculations.
