Job Description

Come intern with Intel's Information Security organization. You will join an Agile DevOps delivery team of information security professionals who build best-in-class security capabilities that keep Intel secure and deliver business value to stakeholders.

The Cyber Defense team is looking for undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year of college who are highly motivated to work part time (20 hours per week) for one year and grow their information security skills.

The Cyber Defense team manages security controls across vulnerability scanning, security patching, application security, cloud security, and lab security in all Intel domains. This includes controls validation, discovery, attack detection and containment, vulnerability detection and remediation, and development of AI models and agentic systems that respond to AI-generated attacks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Continuous Threat and Exposure Management process, including vulnerability identification, scanning, assessment, and remediation across the enterprise.
  • Assist with remediation of discovered security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
  • Configure, manage, and operate core Cyber Defense platforms (vulnerability, asset, and application scanning, security patching, and the CTEM platform).
  • Support Agile and DevOps approaches to platform management, including deployment and management automation, version control, and continuous integration, delivery, and management processes.
  • Assist with system automation, upgrades, and integration with various systems, tools, and data sources.
  • Help develop defensive AI agents that respond to AI-assisted attackers.
  • Perform external attack surface management, such as attack path analysis, exposure exploitability analysis, and tactical remediation and containment of high-risk exposures.
  • Develop and use key reporting and dashboards to evaluate threat intelligence and determine potential risk to Intel, so vulnerabilities can be prioritized across the enterprise.
  • Work closely with software development engineers, systems engineers, network engineers, database administrators, the monitoring team, and information security teams to support new features, services, and releases.

We invite you to join Intel, where you will gain valuable experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow within a supportive and innovative environment.
