Join Humana as a Technology Intern for Summer 2027 and play a key role in driving innovation and digital transformation within a Fortune 50 healthcare company.

The 12-week internship offers hands-on experience across a wide range of technology domains, with projects that directly affect the health and well-being of millions. As a Tech Intern, you will work with experienced technologists on initiatives that may include project management, agile development, software and cloud engineering, data science and analytics, user experience (UI/UX), machine learning, and cybersecurity. You will use modern tools and methods to solve real-world challenges, build new skills, and make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology.

The internship is held in person at Humana's Headquarters in Louisville, KY, giving interns a close look at the corporate culture and direct mentorship from industry leaders.

Internship Program Overview

Humana's 12-week program combines structured learning with meaningful project work. It includes:

• Onboarding and orientation to learn about Humana, the program, and your assigned team.
• Placement on a technical team to apply your skills and contribute to projects aligned with Humana's mission and technology objectives.
• Executive-level presentations, professional development sessions, and workshops.
• A support network that may include direct leaders, program managers, mentors, and peers.
• Learning, training, and development opportunities.
• Opportunities to join intern-led committees and events, such as Social Events, Yearbook, and Volunteering.
• Access to Humana's Network Resource Groups (NRGs).

Potential Team Placements

Interns may be placed on one of several technical teams, depending on business need, skill set, and interest:

• CenterWell and Humana Military: Supports Humana's senior-focused primary care, home health, pharmacy, and military communities. Projects may include health system integrations, clinical support platforms, data interoperability, and digital tools.
• Data and Analytics: Delivers enterprise data, reporting, and analytics that inform business and clinical decisions. Work may include data engineering, dashboard development, and data quality improvement.
• Enterprise Growth and Digital: Develops digital tools, mobile applications, and self-service experiences. Projects may include new digital experiences, marketing automation, and analytics for business strategy.
• Enterprise AI: Builds reusable AI capabilities and services. Work may include Natural Language Processing (NLP), Conversational AI, model development, and data pipeline optimization.
• Enterprise Information Protection (EIP): Protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Humana's information. Projects may include threat detection, vulnerability management, identity security, and secure cloud architecture.
• Insurance Technology: Builds and supports the systems behind Humana's insurance operations. Projects may involve software development, cloud, AI, automation, and digital platforms.
• CTO: Shapes the vision and roadmap for Humana's technology landscape. Interns may support technical research, AI enablement, enterprise architecture, and transformation projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at posting. Individual pay varies based on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications, and may be higher or lower based on location.
