Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, extending humanity's reach across the solar system. Its satellites provide dedicated, secure networks to demanding customers worldwide, including large enterprises, sovereign governments and the US military.
The company has five satellites on orbit, with more launching soon, and serves a backlog of more than $1 billion in commercial contracts. Astranis has raised over $1.2 billion from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Baillie Gifford, Blackrock, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton and Snowpoint. Its team of about 500 engineers and entrepreneurs designs, builds and operates satellites from a 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California.
Internships at Astranis typically last twelve weeks. They are hourly roles for students currently enrolled at a four-year university. Interns take on hard problems and meaningful work on challenging projects, regardless of seniority. Many past interns have designed, built and tested flight hardware and software for Astranis satellites, and many now work there full-time. Graduates of four-year universities or graduate students should apply for the Associate role instead.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents or other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
Astranis welcomes people of every gender, race, creed and background, and invites everyone to bring their own perspective to the team.
