Join Amgen's Mission of Serving Patients

At Amgen, our shared mission is to serve patients living with serious illnesses, and that purpose guides everything we do.

Since 1980, Amgen has helped pioneer biotech in the fight against some of the world's toughest diseases. With a focus on four therapeutic areas (Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease), the company reaches millions of patients each year. Amgen is advancing a broad pipeline of medicines for cancer, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, rare diseases, and obesity and obesity-related conditions. As part of the team, you will help research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines that help people live longer, fuller, happier lives.

The company culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you enjoy challenges, you will do well here.

What You Will Do

Operations is one of three foundational functions at Amgen, with a mission to deliver safe and effective medicines around the world consistently and efficiently. Operations manufactures and delivers Amgen therapeutics to patients. It includes five subfunctions: Global Supply Chain, Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering, spread across several sites. Its goal is to ensure patients have access to the Amgen products they need.

Process Development (PD) is the Operations department that takes molecules from Research & Development and turns them into products that can be manufactured for therapeutic use. With support from their hiring manager, the intern will complete a project in Manufacturing and Clinical Supply. The intern will rigorously conduct and document experiments, analyze and interpret data into meaningful outcomes, and communicate the process to the team clearly.

Interns also take part in professional development, including training sessions, an executive speaker series, lab and facilities tours, one-on-one mentoring, and networking events, along with Amgen-sponsored social events.
