Job Overview:

DXC Technology is seeking a talented Backend Developer to join its team in a remote capacity. The role focuses on building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and integrations to support the company’s growing tech ecosystem. As a Backend Developer, you will work on developing robust, scalable, and secure services using Python and associated frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs according to project specifications.
  • Implement new features and functionalities using Python and related frameworks.
  • Follow established coding standards and architectural patterns to ensure high-quality code.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code with a focus on long-term maintainability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the services and APIs developed.
  • Adhere to security best practices in coding to ensure system integrity and data protection.
  • Integrate with internal and external systems as required.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues or bugs effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the development of testing standards and implement automated tests for backend systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API principles.
  • Familiarity with database systems and SQL.
  • Experience with version control tools, especially Git.
  • Basic knowledge of web security principles.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure at a basic level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GraphQL for API development.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience using API documentation tools.
  • Basic understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Interest in AI technologies and workflows.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD concepts.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Experience building AI agents is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation Range: $50,400 – $93,500 annually.
