About the Role

This is a 6-month W2 contract with the potential for extension. You’ll be working full-time (40 hours per week) in a remote capacity.
The start date is May 6th, and the role requires you to work with a collaborative, global team.

Important notes:

  • No C2C engagements are allowed.
  • No visa sponsorship or visa transfer is available for this role.

Interview Process

The hiring process at Braintrust is straightforward:

  1. Hiring Manager Interview (30–45 minutes)
  2. System Design Interview (60 minutes)
  3. Coding Interview (60 minutes)

Additionally, Braintrust uses an AI Interviewer platform for initial screenings. It’s a flexible, asynchronous video interview that lets candidates showcase their skills easily.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design: Architect scalable, resilient backend systems with a strong focus on latency and performance.
  • Backend Development: Develop clean, efficient, and testable backend code in Python and Go.
  • Systems Architecture: Work with tools like Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, Postgres, and multiple third-party/internal APIs to ensure system resilience, automation, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively within a global team environment to deliver robust technical solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and Go programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Expertise in writing testable, clear, and maintainable code.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis (at a user level).
  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform services (user level).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with highly scalable systems.
  • Familiarity with Terraform.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning systems or frontend technologies (especially React).
