About the Internship Program

Teradata’s summer internship program is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. During this 10-12 week program, you will work on real-world projects, collaborate with top professionals in the industry, and gain valuable technical and analytical skills. This is a fully remote internship, allowing flexibility while ensuring meaningful learning experiences.


Role Overview: What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work alongside a team that blends data science and analytical engineering. Your role will involve:

  • Collaborating with analytics engineers to develop in-database analytics functions.
  • Ensuring high accuracy and efficient workload management.
  • Supporting proof-of-concept (POC) projects.
  • Using AI technologies to build scalable models that integrate with Teradata’s analytics platform.
  • Contributing to AI-driven applications such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), recommendation systems, and multimodal solutions for various enterprise use cases.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of ClearScape Analytics, Teradata’s core AI product team, working closely with experts in cloud analytics and data management. Teradata specializes in handling structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, delivering powerful insights to enterprises through industry-leading products like the Teradata Database and high-performance in-database analytics.

Our Gen AI product, Vector Store, plays a key role in supporting applications like RAG and recommendation systems. As an intern, you’ll report directly to the ClearScape Analytics team manager, gaining mentorship and exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies.


Pay Rate: $29 – $50 per hour

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications

To qualify for this internship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a BS/MS/PhD program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
  • Have an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
  • Have experience programming in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Have knowledge of information retrieval, text summarization, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Preferred Skills & Experience

While not required, candidates with the following experience will be highly preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with training, evaluating, or interpreting large language models.
  • Experience using analytics to solve business or product-related problems.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and coding using Python, R, or SQL.
