About the Role

As a Member of Technical Staff – Rapid Response, you will work on high-impact engineering projects that directly contribute to company growth and customer success. This team is responsible for addressing urgent business needs while maintaining the long-term scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our infrastructure.

Your role will involve designing, building, and operating backend services that support critical business functions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, platform engineers, and sales teams, to develop and implement solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-volume backend services using Go, deployed on Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.
  • Build and improve operational tooling to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with multiple teams to design and implement features that address urgent customer needs.
  • Contribute to the build systems, test frameworks, deployment tools, and monitoring systems to refine our engineering processes.

What You’ll Achieve

Within the First Month:

  • Gain a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s platform and start making contributions to the product.
  • Learn about the company’s customers, their challenges, and the underlying technology.

Within the First 90 Days:

  • Ship multiple enhancements to the platform.
  • Contribute to design discussions that shape the long-term architecture of the system.
  • Begin working on new service implementations and gain ownership of specific platform components.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to independently own projects from planning to deployment, including requirement gathering and milestone setting.
  • Experience building and maintaining highly available systems at scale—our customers’ uptime depends on us!
  • Proficiency in Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust (fluency in any one system-level language is required).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate multiple solutions and their trade-offs.
  • A passion for improving development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
  • A collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
