Quality Intern - Summer 2027

Job Description

We are hiring for Summer 2027! The goal of HydraForce's internship program is to develop future engineering resources for our organization while providing support to our Quality Engineering group (Inspection Labs, SQE, QE, and Warranty). We structure the engineering internship to allow candidates the opportunity to develop knowledge and skill-sets unique to our industry. Project tasks reflect an increasing level of technical complexity based on demonstrated proficiency and success on prior assignments. Although there is no guarantee of employment, it is our goal to have our interns fully capable of stepping into an entry-level engineering position upon graduation.

Supporting Job Elements

• Assist in continuous improvement projects
• Day-to-day support activities including inspection, sorting, fixture design, and assembly
• Assist in measurement system analysis on various gauges
• Use Six Sigma and Lean tools to analyze and solve problems
• Perform hydraulic testing for failure analysis
• Assist with valve and test stand troubleshooting
• Assemble and disassemble hydraulic valves and manifolds for failure analysis
• Read and analyze hydraulic prints
• Assist Supplier Quality Engineers with reviews of supplier performance data, evaluation and validation of supplier change requests, and driving improvements in supplier delivered quality for new and existing products
• Review returned material and verify customer complaints through root cause analysis
• Assist in maintaining the Supplier Corrective Action database
• Assist with test data entry, collection, and statistical analysis
• Create and modify existing systems that track metrics
• Create and improve documentation such as control plans, FMEAs, work instructions, and process flows

Qualifications

• Committed to an engineering college undergraduate or graduate program
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Coursework or experience in statistical analysis and lean tools (preferred)
• Coursework or experience in measurement systems (preferred)
• Basic experience in 3D modeling; CNC programming is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills (must); Minitab is preferred
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and in a team environment

Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering

Additional Information

The US base hourly range for this position is between $18 and $24, depending on credits accumulated for undergraduate students. Your recruiter can share more details about the specific hourly range during the interview process.
